Border and Immigration Agency has annonced regarding Biometric travel documents.
“From 17 March 2008 the Home Office will be issuing biometric travel documents. The process of applying for a Home Office travel document will not change. All applications must be made by post by completing a travel document application form (TD112 Revision 12) [...]

The introduction scheme for National Identity card will be launched for foreign nationals in 2008 and British citizens in 2009.
The scheme will begin in November this year with introduction of identity cards for non-EEA foreign nationals; initially starting with the catagories include, foreign nationals seeking to enter or remain in the UK [...]
